About The Festival
I volunteered at the 2025 Social Enterprise Festival held at UTS on August 16. The festival is organised by the Social Enterprise Council of NSW & ACT (SECNA) and aims to connect the public with social enterprises that prioritise people and the planet.
Its purpose is to promote awareness around ethical businesses, educate attendees on social impact, and foster a fairer economy and society. Social enterprises blend profit with purpose, addressing community challenges through innovative business models.

Reflections & Learnings
What I Learned
This experience helped me understand the scale and logistics of running a public event and the value of having passionate volunteers to make it work.
I learnt how to:
- Manage large crowds effectively
- Communicate efficiently under pressure
- Adapt quickly to dynamic event needs
It was also inspiring to see how social enterprises are creating real-world impact and how purpose-driven businesses influence society.
What I'd Do Differently
If I were to do something differently, I would try to rotate roles during the day to experience more aspects of the festival—such as assisting in panel discussions or workshop sessions.
